Wrath, Patience and Contest Time!
It's that time again ... time for a sin and a virtue! I am pleased to introduce the next set of the Seven Deadly Sins and Seven Holy Virtues sock yarns. “Wrath” and “Patience” are now available in my shop.
I also mentioned last week that it feels like it's about time to have another contest. Well, that time has arrived! Here are the details:
Prizes: Three winners will each receive one skein of the yet-to-be-released FF Merino/Tencel Sock yarn. I'm still six to eight weeks away from introducing this new product to my shop, but three lucky winners will get a sneak preview! (Sneak preview photos of the three skeins that will go to the winners will be posted later this week.)
How to enter: To enter the contest, visit my shop and select a colorway or two that are your favorites. Enter a comment here (or send me an e-mail) naming which of the colorways are your all-time favorites. This information will be very helpful to me when it comes time to plan the new colorways for the new Merino/Tencel Sock Yarn.
Don't forget your e-mail address: When leaving a comment here, be sure to fill in the space for your e-mail address in the comments fields so that I know how to contact you if you are a winner. An e-mail address listed in that field will be visible only to me. (Side note: For those who entered their e-mail addresses in the text of the comments, I've deleted the comments from public view, but rest assured that your entries are in the pool!)
Note: Your e-mail address will never be used for any other purpose than this contest. It will not be shared, sold or added to any mailing list. (Of course, if you want your e-mail added to my mailing list, include a note to let me know and I will be happy to add you to the list.)
Deadline: Submissions will be accepted until midnight PST on Monday April 7th.
Winners: Three winners will be selected by the highly scientific name-in-a-hat method and will be announced on Tuesday April 8th.

There are so many lovely colorways--what I really like are the sort of tonal ones, like Brick House. I knit a Swallowtail shawl in it and the color changes are fantastic!

Midnight Passion is my all-time favourite (Lust is a lot like it... do you think that says something about me?), followed closely by Sloth, partly because it's such a rare thing to find a soft, bright blue like that.

The ones I have drooled over the most in the past are Midnight Passion and Deepest Forest.
Does the tencel/merino yarn have the same sproinginess as 100% merino?
In answer to the question above about the springiness of the Merino/Tencel ...
No, it doesn't have the type of spring and memory of the pure merino. It is, however, doing very well in my wash and wear testing. You can also scroll back through the posts over the past month and see a few that have more details about this yarn.

I guess they would have to be: Wrath and Marrakesh (though Sublime, Speak Softly, and Patience were definitely in the running). pansophy is my favorite colorway. it reminds me of the color of the atlantic on an early spring day. the whitecaps over a choppy gray sea. you could use oceans and seas for color names from arctic grays to aegean greens.

Hi Deb - my favourites are Lust and Imagine - I am a purple freak. Love lots of your colourways though, and am sure whichever colourways you dye the new yarn, I'll be drooling, and have a hard choice!
I love your browns; I'm drooling just thinking about them with the shine of tencel. Sublime? Thoroughbred? Exotic Wood? Or one of the older colors - Venerable and Turning Leaves (two of my all time favorites.) And of course, Lust (love purples) and Brick House (gorgeous!) How can I possibly pick just 2??

I really love the Smoke colorway, it is one of the best grays anywhere, ever. I also love Endless Night and Rubicund.

Lust. Lust is definitely my favourite. It's so beautiful it gives me shivers.
But I love the delicate colours in Optimism, and the richness of Discipline, as well. ^_^

You have so many lovely colors, it's hard to choose. But, what I like best, are the lovely mushroom and earth tones that few other dyers seem to do as well :) Like Speak Softly and Earthenware. I also love the blue shades like Sloth, but I'll keep my list simple.
My two current favorites are Blue Rain and Storm... I love blue and gray, separate and together, and especially when named after sky-stuff. ^_^
Thoroughbred or Sublime jump right off the page at me. I'm picturing a yummy shawl made from one of those...

My favourites are Deepest Forest and Sublime. I love dark, rich colours.
I looove Citrus (I smell lemons when I see it) and Sloth, because it reminds me of flowers in Spring.
I have to go with three that I have purchased. My all-time favorite is Spellbound. The colors are so rich, blues, greens and teals blending effortlessly together. But I also love Lust and Storm.

Today my two favorites are Spellbound and Lust. Spellbound is very much my "usual" colors, blues and greens, and Lust is the sort of intense red-purples that I admire but don't often wear, thus making them excellent sock colors. I like both of these because they have a wider range of values than some of the others - their lights and darks are further apart, and that makes them seem more interesting. Today, at least. :)

I LOVE all of your colorways, but if I was to pull just one off of the shelf, it'd have to be the earthenware colorway. I LOVE it! My second favorite is the Lust. Very dramatic, suited just for me!

I loved Hudson (is it still around?) and I get all kinds of compliments on the color of my brick house socks. Marrakesh, too, is a great shade of green, and lately auburn and amber has caught my eye...
Well, as you said one or two favorites, I'll have to go with Sublime and Inner Sanctum, but I could have mentioned many more!
