Call it a DONE!

My Faux Russian Stole from Meg Swansen's A Gathering of Lace is complete! Now if only I knew what to do with it! Perhaps I should wear it to the supermarket?

Or maybe the bowling alley? Will this be the view of me from the rear as I head toward the approach?

Maybe I'll spread my wings a bit so the detail is visible as I stand in line at the Post Office.

I suppose I could wrap myself in it for a bit of warmth as I watch my husband's softball games this spring.

I really enjoyed knitting this shawl and I do like it very much, but I fear I don't have much of a shawl lifestyle. It may end up as a gift. Who knows? Whatever its fate turns out to be, for now I shall simply revel in the satisfaction of having completed it.

Gorgeous! Congrats on finishing such a lovely shawl. And if it needs a home, feel free to send it my way. Those are definitely my colors! {grin}

The shawl is absolutely stunning, and I love your photos! I don't know how you managed to finish such an elaborate project so quickly. Be sure to keep it to look at for a while, even if you decide to give it away.

My first thought:

That's a whole lotta lace.

My second thought:

No! Don't gift it! Keep it! Keep it!

:P

It really is a gorgeous shawl (in a gorgeous colorway!).

It's absolutely stunning!!! What beautiful colours. So much bigger than I expected. I think you might just get over your self consciousness with it when people see you in it and oooh and aaah over it.

I've been purchasing your beautiful yarns for quite a few months now and I am wondering how many skeins of yarn a gorgeous project like this takes. And is this your classic merino, superwash sock weight or laceweight yarn?

Your shawl is exquisite!

In response to the questions above ....

This shawl is made with two skeins of my "Superwash Merino Wool Sock Yarn" in the Inner Sanctum colorway.

My apologies for not including this information in my most recent post. I guess in the excitement of finishing the project, I forgot all about the yarn :)

GORGEOUS shawl! I hear you on the wearability factor though. I made a lovely shawl to wear with a bridesmaid dress I was forced... ahem... honored to wear last year, and it's been tucked away in the closet ever since. I think I'll bring it out tonight and wrap it about me while I read a book :)
